Nordic design from Kauniste

Kauniste is a textile design studio based in Helsinki, Finland. They design and manufacture inspirational everyday textiles. Kauniste presented in 2009 their first collection. Their textiles are inspired by Finnish kitchen linens from the 60's and 70's and their aim has been to create a product that can be used and cherished for as long as those classic Scandinavian designs from decades ago.

They wanted to combine the skilled traditional craft of screenprinting with new design ideas of young Scandinavian designers to create beautiful textiles. At this moment Kauniste's designers are Matti Pikkujämsä, Jenni Rope, Leena Kisonen, Hannele Äijälä, Hanna Konola and Bjørn Rune Lie. Want to know where you can shop Kauniste ?
