Element Clay Studio Ceramics

Meet Heather Knight, an internationally recognized ceramic artist living in Asheville, United States. In 2007 she started selling her ceramics on Etsy and since then she's garnered a lot of attention form the world wide design community. She's inspired by textures and forms which she finds on the beach when taking trips to the sea, a walk in the woods or stuff she finds laying on the sidewalk.

She believes in keeping true to the hand made process of her art and does not use any means of mass production. She starts making prototypes in clay. But works almost exclusively in porcelain, because she thinks its the smoothest and most wonderful thing to touch in the world !

I recently stumbled upon Heather's gorgeous ceramic work, and instantly fell in love with her unique pieces. These beautiful ceramics will make great centerpieces for any special occasion. I really love the plain white with a little bit of colour in the center. And these colours are my favorites !

Nordic design from Kauniste

Kauniste is a textile design studio based in Helsinki, Finland. They design and manufacture inspirational everyday textiles. Kauniste presented in 2009 their first collection. Their textiles are inspired by Finnish kitchen linens from the 60's and 70's and their aim has been to create a product that can be used and cherished for as long as those classic Scandinavian designs from decades ago.

They wanted to combine the skilled traditional craft of screenprinting with new design ideas of young Scandinavian designers to create beautiful textiles. At this moment Kauniste's designers are Matti Pikkujämsä, Jenni Rope, Leena Kisonen, Hannele Äijälä, Hanna Konola and Bjørn Rune Lie. Want to know where you can shop Kauniste ? Colours and Patterns

Good morning, hope you had a good night of sleep and fresh start of the day ! I'm sure I've had ! A little bit of working today and I'm ready for the weekend. Today I wanted to show you some of Bungalows lovely designs in full colour and patterns ! Bungalow is a Danish design brand wich makes the loveliest colorful textiles, paperie and accessoiries for your home. Trying to create contemporary designs by combining the Indian inspiration with modern colours and aesthetics. Hope you like them as much as I do ! Have a lovely weekend everyone !

Poketo goods

Poketo is a designer of fun limited edition art products, accessories, apparel, and decor and promotes the work of top international artists by showcasing original artwork through their fun and accessible wares. Poketo was founded by Ted Vadakan and Angie Myung in 2003 and is currently based in Los Angeles. You can shop for apparel, accessoiries, stationary, wallets and decorating items. Below some of my favorite items from Poketo.

Karin Eriksson's ceramics

Today I've got a very nice shop I'd like you to share with you ! The online shop is called Manos, founded by Karin Eriksson, a designer/maker of beautiful functional ceramics. Most of her work is handthrown in porcelain or stoneware clay. She works with simple timeless shapes and decorates with screenprinted ceramic decals.

Living and working in Stockholm, Sweden. Karin Eriksson's studio is located in a beautiful building at the outskirts of Stockholm where she creates her ceramics.

In her own words: Fashion and nature are major sources of inspiration to me. I am also very inspired by and interested in our craft heritage, in Sweden called “slöjd”: the colours, techniques and the feeling of beauty and functionality in one.

Zakka nouveau

Today I've got a great Etsy shop for you called Zakka Nouveau ! Instant smitten ! Zakka Nouveau is a graphic and product design studio runned by Satsuki Shibuya a Japanese-American girl living in LA, and she makes the loveliest aprons, potholders and purses with the cutest patterns ! And all of these lovely items are handmade.  She has a lovely blog too ! Please check it out over here. Enjoy some of my favourites !

Important: She decided to launch a project called ‘stitch+connect’. Zakka Nouveau will be releasing a limited edition project where each day, for the next month, a special product will be made. Each product will include some patchwork from remnant fabrics, which is the ‘stitch’ part + to drive home the idea that one can contribute somehow with the things that they have around them = the connect part !

Caroline Gomez is a designer living in France. The main goal of her business is creating limited edition items. Her  work is organized as a creative studio connecting several areas: publishing of articles, editorial projects, photography and various design projects. Furniture by Amy Hunting

Amy Hunting is a Norwegian furniture designer and illustrator currently based in London. Amy studied design in Denmark and worked for Established and Sons before setting up her own practise in London. Based in a studio in East London she now works on developing and making furniture as well as working as a freelance illustrator.

Blockshelf is one of the creations of Amy Hunting. It is a set of shelves, which is made from using cotton rope and mixed blocks of wood. Every Blockshelf is different and unique more than twenty different types of wood are used for making these furniture pieces.

The Patchwork collection pieces are made entirely out of wood and consist of a chair, a book box and 12 lamps that fit inside each other like babooshka dolls. All the pieces are hand made and all slightly different.

Therese Sennerholt´s quotations and sayings

Therese Sennerholt is a Sweden based freelance art director who works on advertising and identity design. Recently she started  producing these graphic prints with new and old quotations and sayings as a side project, but they became such a huge success that she expanded the collection. All prints are sold in her own webshop and at different retailers.

I really love typography in prints and she is definitely one of my favourite designers. Black and white, simple, minimal, and with a touch of humor !

Paper sculptures by Anna Highfield

Anna Highfield is a figurative artist based out of Sydney, Australia who creates magnificent sculptures. Anna constructs animal sculptures out of archival paper, ink, watercolor, thread, and copper pipe, and the results are incredible.

I was INSTANTLY smitten and transfixed; most strikingly with the Raven. This is simply amazing work. Such creativity and artistry ! A beautiful combination of materials, vision and talent.

Her sculptures have now been purchased and displayed across the world, and we can see why she is so in demand because she has a wonderful way of capturing things.

Kek Amsterdam walldecoration

Kek Amsterdam is a new refreshing design brand that was founded in 2010. KEK Amsterdam designs and produces fresh and unique walldecoration from it's own studio located in Amsterdam. The creative brain behind KEK Amsterdam is Evert Kok. Together with his brother Bas and sister Barbara they are constantly renewing and trying to design new items. I'm sure we are gonna hear more about this new fresh and exiting designbrand !

Rising Sun & Co

Rising sun & Co is a denim brand/denim store that has been launched by Mike Hodis. The goal is to produce authentic and hardworking indigo goods that will will take the wearer on a journey back in time to the golden age of workmanship.

Instead of working in a factory using automated machines, each pair is cut and sewn by hand by Mike himself and then put together by a select team of tailors using vintage black-top sewing machines, just like they did in the 1800s.

Tine K Spring/Summer 2011 collection

Tine K Home offers a beautiful collection of home, lifestyle and fashion accessories. The Danish designer Tine Kjeldsen has developed a unique signature style which is an adventurous mix of Asian, French, Scandinavian and Moroccan colours, shapes and surfaces.
I'm so fond of this new collection, i absolutely adore the basic color palette and the fabulous interior styling …

Forestbound bags

Here's some eyecandy if you like unique, old and raw materials. Today i came across this lovely shop and instant fell in love with these bags. Alice Saunders is the genius designer behind Forestbound, a unique line of accessories made out of upcycled, recycled, and salvaged materials. Each Forest Bound bag is a one-of-a-kind creation, adding to its vintage appeal.
